The Next Wave NHL
The Hurricanes have one of the deeper systems in the league, with plenty of guys near the end of the top 20 who could be top 9 regulars. Good baance between positions as well as their are defense, forwards, and goalies throughout the organization. Another nice part of the system is the diversity of the players, some are offensive based, some defensive.

Aleksi Saarela has his issues, namely his size, but he's dynamic with the puck, and the model has upgraded his ceiling to a 2nd liner calibre player. He's still a big risk to get there, primarily because of his size, but he's adapting well as he progresses.

Alex Nedeljkovic still has starter potential, but after an inconsistent rookie season, in which he was flat out bad during the first half, but picked up his game in the second half, his risk factor has increased. With Booth, LaFontaine, and Helvig in the system, Ned needs a good year and solid progression to stay atop the Canes depth chart as far as prospect goalies are concerned

With the Canes loaded on defense it's odd that a dman is chosen, but this could be a key year for Haydn Fleury. He's more of a pure defensive dman, but we've seen this organizatio turn others of a similar ilk into improving offensive dmen (Slavin and Pesce jump to mind). Will Fluery stick in the pros? And can he start to show some of the promis he flashed in junior to be a high pick?
