The Next Wave NHL
The Stars have a good balance of prospects throghout the system, though they don't have any scoring type centers in the system. But the wings have intriguing offensive players, and the D is a diverse group, highlighted by Heiskanen and Honka. Jake Oettinger gives them a top goalie prospect to build around.

Gemel Smith looks more and more like a guy who could stick in the NHL, though the offense may not be there to stick a a top 6 guy, but Nicolas Caamano had a strong season, and looks like a budding power forward.

Julius Honka can move the puck, and run a PP, but defensively his game has not developed, and the new Stars coaching staff isn't likely to tolerate that for long. Honka is coming to a crossroads in his career.

Honka could easily fit here, but since we covered him, how about Denis Gurianov? He has dominated against his age group in the past, but looked lost at times in the AHL last year. There is offensive talent in the big winger, but his second AHL season will see if he trends towards a top 6 forward, or a guy more likely for a long KHL career.
